Materials Engineer
Ypsilanti, Michigan
As our clients Materials Engineer, you will work and produce results in an unsupervised, industrial laboratory environment and in production facilities, if needed. You will rely upon your ability to personally execute testing tasks to develop a level of familiarity and detail that will allow training of other associates. Your natural collaborative abilities and excellent interpersonal skills will come into play as you effectively communicate with all levels of expertise within the company. To qualify, you should possess a Bachelors degree in material science, ceramic engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field. A background, with an attendant knowledge of glass, ceramics, and/or automotive industry and related processes is preferred. A familiarity with optical, environmental, chemical and mechanical test methods, equipment and instrumentation is sought. Knowledge of applied industrial statistics, data compiling and analysis techniques, plus reliability-engineering principles and methods and accelerated life-testing principles and methods is also required.
