Qualifications:
Possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL), class B with a P, S, and air brake endorsements.
If you do not have a CDL, we will provide paid training.
Pass a DOT physical, pass a pre hire drug test, and comply with the federal DOT random drug testing program including the FMCSA Clearinghouse Must be capable of operating all fleet vehicles used for transporting the students Must be capable of backing and turning around vehicles that are 35 feet or longer Must be able to understand mechanical functions, and report vehicle defects Must be able to deal effectively with children and parents Must be able to control bus and students at the same time Prefer certification in CPR and basic First Aid Duties and
Responsibilities:
Assures the safety of passengers at all times Attendance and punctuality to assignments required Ability to bend, lift and perform overhead work Maintain discipline on the school bus as according to policy and offers due process to all students and follows through with appropriate documentation when needed Perform daily inspections, fuel and maintain all fluid levels at appropriate levels and report defects immediately on the appropriate form Comply with pick-up and drop-off locations and times Continually update your route description and indicate by initialing weekly Report all accidents immediately.
Comply with the district policies, procedures, transportation handbook and the beginning school bus driver manual Comply with all directives from supervisors whether written or verbal Ensure mirror system alignment Attend training and meetings as required Operates radio to communicate with supervisors when problems, emergencies or disruption of regular service occur Conduct emergency evacuation drills Drivers expected to safely accomplish duties in all varying weather and road conditions All other duties as assigned Full time employment for all bus drivers during the school year Job Type:
