Behavior Technician - Superior Township, MI - Hiring - 082023
OverviewThe behavior technician is responsible for ensuring that the programming created by the clinician is implemented with his/her assigned client.
General RequirementsThis position requires a person to have a minimum of a high school diploma.
Preferable if the person has experience working with children and teens who have been diagnosed with autism.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds- Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting,crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time- Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time- Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functionsfor data collection- Must be physically present at the assigned job location, which may include home, centerand community placements- Must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between different jobsitesDuties and ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Provide client care in 1:
1 and group settings using a combination of intensive teachingand natural environment training arrangements- Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols asdeveloped by the supervising clinician- Provide support in the collection, recording and summarizing of data on the observable clientbehavior- Adhere to the policies and procedures set by the Michigan Learning Community- Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress asinstructed by the supervising clinician- Utilize safe & appropriate handling procedures when working with clients- Maintain client confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability &Accountability Act) and be courteous towards the privacy of your client and his or herfamily- Maintain a clean, safe and organized work and therapy environmentNote:
